'From Brokenness to Wholeness'
Abundant Life Church, Derby
Friday 24th November 2006

Pastor Paul & Tokkie Haywood invited me to share at their church, Abundant Life, in Derby. So on Friday 24th November, me and my merry band travelled to Derby in a delayed convoy. The 'merry band' who came with me were, Linda O'Malley (best friend and 'organiser'), Allana Dymock (sister and backing vocalist), Deborah Gilchrist (sister, pianist and drummer), Matt McGregor (friend, bass and electric guitarist) and Fiona Weir (friend and book sales).

Saturday was the main event where Pastor Tokkie had organised a ladies breakfast with a difference and created the most beautiful display (as seen in the photographs). The ladies feasted upon danish pastries, a variety of fruits and delights but with one main ingredient - chocolate. A chocolate fountain was available to coat anything you so desired. What a breakfast!

We all had a fantastic day. It not only encouraged and ministered to those who attended but we as a team were so blown away by God's goodness and we became even closer friends during that weekend. Approximately 50 women attended and I shared some of the story of my journey with the theme 'from brokenness to wholeness', reading some of my poetry and singing several of my songs. I was honoured and excited to be able to share but also to sing my newest song called 'I can't believe' which describes my astonishment at how God has taken my life and turned it completely around.

I learned a lot of things over that weekend but the greatest is that our lives, as unimportant as we think they are, affect the world in which we live, even if it's only one person's life we touch - who knows what that one person will be or who they will affect and as we bring our broken pieces to God, He makes us whole.

I would like to thank Pastor Paul & Tokkie for the honour of allowing me to share and to those who made our weekend one to remember - THANK YOU!
