at the recording studio

I have written quite a few songs over time but would never have considered recording them. I would sing them at our church on occasions. One of my sisters had been encouraging me to get my songs heard. I fought her all the way. I felt that people were being 'polite' and did not think anyone would listen.

Following the breakfast event I was asked whether I had a CD for sale - to say I was astounded would be an understatement.

I attempted a few avenues on recording but did not seem to get anywhere and because of my own self-doubt I was happy to put the idea 'on the shelf'. Then a friend, whom I hadn't seen in years, recommended a friend who had his own recording studio and I went along to meet him. I relaxed immediately and thought I should at least try.

Recording is an expensive business (especially on a limited income) and I was not sure how I would afford to do this, again I felt God telling me to 'go with what I had'.

I had enough to do one session.

It was a magnificent day and after that first session I knew I should continue - I just wasn't sure how. I arrived home late that night and I received a card saying 'this is the Father's heart' - enclosed was a cheque to cover the costs for making the album!

Doing this has been 'a journey' all in itself but I have been blessed by being introduced to Jamie Duffin who has made making this album such a delight.
